Job Summary
The market leader in Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling, GLE Scrap Metal, has an immediate opening for production line operators on weekend nights.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and sort various wires for pre-shred
- Identify and remove non-conforming materials that will contaminate the production batch
- Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor
- Assembling packaging for outbound materials
- Following production guidelines and specifications
- Finalizing and packing products for shipment
- Operating and maintaining computerized machinery and adjusting production line equipment
- Monitoring the assembly line and removing faulty products
- Working on the production line and meeting production targets
- Reporting any issues to the supervisor on duty.
- Performing other tasks as assigned
- Following health and safety standards
Requirements
- Working weekend nights from 5 PM to 5 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and perform other physical activities for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors with exposure to the sun and inclement weather
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical
Skills
- Operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Mechanically Inclined and able to identify and use hand tools.
- Ability to work safely and properly follow all company policies
- Ability for sitting, standing, walking, forward bending, climbing, squatting, lifting, kneeling, pulling/ pushing, and reaching
- Ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision
